About the design

Painted as a nineteenth century academic oil and staged like a throne room. Cleopatra reclines on a gilded bench in a long white pleated linen dress, a broad turquoise and gold collar at her throat, a braided black wig threaded with gold beads and kohl drawn out at the eyes. Beside her sits a full gold boombox, twin speaker grilles and a cassette deck, built as though a palace workshop made it. Behind her the temple runs back in carved columns with papyrus capitals, panels of hieroglyphs, lit oil lamps and palm fronds in a tall jar. Gold and white against deep shadow, printed as one portrait gallery wrapped canvas, ready to hang, with a floating frame available as an upgrade.
