About the design

Painted as a Tudor state portrait and then quietly wired up. Henry sits square on a carved wooden throne in a gold brocade doublet with slashed and puffed sleeves, crimson beneath, a fur lined robe over the shoulders, a heavy gold collar at his chest and a black flat cap with a feather. Across his knee lies a black electric guitar, one hand on the neck and the other over the strings. On the flagstones beside him stands a black amplifier, its control panel glowing along the top. Behind him the hall carries carved panels, painted royal arms with lions, a lit candle sconce and a woven tapestry.
