About the design

Marie Antoinette stands at a gilded console table in a pale pink silk gown layered with lace, ruffles and bows, white gloves to the elbow, the tall powdered pouf threaded with blue ribbons, pearls and white ostrich feathers. Over it sit white headphones. Her hands rest on a small black and white keyboard on the table, the one thing in the room made this century. Around her the salon runs in pale blue gray panelling with gilt moldings, a tall window with a sheer curtain, a gilt mirror and parquet underfoot.
