Product Details

Life Only Moves Forward uses the one machine that never ran backward to make its point. Tape plays in a single direction. So does everything else.

About the design

One cassette, shot flat and filling the canvas. The shell is white with a fine brushed finish and a small screw at each corner. A plain white label across the top carries LIFE ONLY MOVES FORWARD in clean blue capitals. Through the clear window you can see the two hubs in soft pink with the dark tape wound between them, and a line of blue type runs along the lower band. No background, no ornament, nothing to read but the line. White and blue with the pink spools as the one soft note, printed as one landscape gallery wrapped canvas, ready to hang, with a floating frame available as an upgrade.

Where it works

Wide and bright, so it opens up a wall instead of weighing on it: above a desk, a bed, a console or a shelf. It reads well in a home office, a bedroom or a studio, and the white shell disappears cleanly into a room painted white, pale gray or greige. You have 30 days from delivery to send a piece back. The full purchase amount is refunded once it reaches us.

Shipping is free to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Switzerland and Norway. Cyprus and Malta are the two exceptions. We ship everywhere else as well, at a rate calculated by destination at checkout.

Nothing is held in stock, so each piece is printed and stretched after you order it. That takes 3 to 6 business days, followed by 3 to 5 business days in transit to the US, Canada, the UK and the EU, or 4 to 7 elsewhere. Most orders arrive within 10 days.

Each canvas is gallery wrapped over its frame, and the hanging hardware is fitted to the back before it ships. There is no framing or assembly to do. A floating frame is available if you would prefer one.

The canvas is organic cotton, and the inks are archival and GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions. A piece can hang in a bedroom or a child's room without concern.

Dust it with a dry cloth when it needs it, and keep water and cleaning products away from the surface. Direct sunlight fades any print over the years, so a wall out of hard sun is best. If the canvas ever loosens, the corner wedges can be tapped to draw it tight again.
